Woman becomes mother for the first time at 72

After aborting three times, Daljinder Kaur challenged medicine and became a mother for the first time at the age of 72. She and her 79-year-old husband have been trying to have a child since 1970.

Daljinder said that she had three miscarriages and was totally devastating because neighbors and relatives insulted her for not being able to have children, she said she was cursed, insisted that her husband should remarry a "productive" woman. Fortunately, his companion was compassionate and supportive, always at his side. But even with her husband's support, Daljinder felt a deep sense of loneliness for not being a mother. Some days I could deal with the situation, others I couldn't even leave the house.

β€œFriends and relatives said it was wrong for me to get pregnant at my age, that I was too old to take care of a newborn and I would die before my son became an adult. But I ignored it. β€œI was walking on the street pregnant and everyone looked at me as if to say: An elderly pregnant woman ??? All eyes were offensive, but nothing could take away the joy I felt at being pregnant. ”
