After aborting three times, Daljinder Kaur challenged medicine and became a mother for the first time at the age of 72. She and her 79-year-old husband have been trying to have a child since 1970.
Daljinder said that she had three miscarriages and was totally devastating because neighbors and relatives insulted her for not being able to have children, she said she was cursed, insisted that her husband should remarry a "productive" woman. Fortunately, his companion was compassionate and supportive, always at his side. But even with her husband's support, Daljinder felt a deep sense of loneliness for not being a mother. Some days I could deal with the situation, others I couldn't even leave the house.

In 2012, she saw an ad on television about IVF and along with her husband decided she was going to try. The doctor did not want to accept her as a patient because of her age but she begged and managed to convince him. For the procedure, she needed eggs and donated sperm. The first two attempts, in 2013 and 2014, failed. But in July 2015, 20 years after menopause, Daljinder became pregnant. She says she cried with joy.

βFriends and relatives said it was wrong for me to get pregnant at my age, that I was too old to take care of a newborn and I would die before my son became an adult. But I ignored it. βI was walking on the street pregnant and everyone looked at me as if to say: An elderly pregnant woman ??? All eyes were offensive, but nothing could take away the joy I felt at being pregnant. β

Daljinder's son, a boy named Arman Singh, was born by caesarean section weighing 2 kg, on April 19. And once again challenging medicine, Daljinder is breastfeeding. Your body produces the best food in the world. And she is just happiness.
