With the objective of promoting interaction between pets and the public, the event has numerous attractions, services and an adoption fair in partnership with the Luisa Mell Institute.
Creating a city all planned to offer activities to pets can seem like a fantasy. But, this is already a reality at Shopping Center Norte. For the third consecutive year, the project presents Petópolis, the first pet city in Brazil. The event takes place on April 7 and 8, from 11 am to 8 pm, in a reserved parking area, and brings several new features.
One of the attractions is the “Botecão”, with snacks and drinks – beers and wines – made especially for dogs. The action will be promoted by Petz, one of the largest pet shop chains in Brazil. In its store in Center Norte, the brand sells its own line of high quality products, meeting the immediate needs of dog and cat tutors.
Three other brands will be present at the event for the first time: “Padaria Pet”, which will launch CÃOfé and Pipoca to enrich its wide menu of different and healthy foods; “Zooz Pets”, a company that has the exclusive license of the Snoopy brand in Brazil for the development of products for pets, such as pillows, beds, collars and guides; and “PetBamboo”, which will present its sustainable and biodegradable cosmetic line, consisting of concentrated shampoo, conditioner, cologne and dry bath.
Among the activities, the highlights are: the “Cãolégio”, which offers training and animal behavior tips with the team of the project Cão Cidadão, by Dr. Pet (Alexandre Rossi); the “Pet Fit”, gym with practical agility classes – circuit sports in which the dog needs to go through an obstacle course in the shortest possible time; the “Poupa Pet”, to issue a certificate on behalf of the National Republic of Pets; the “Foto Pet”, where the owner and his pet can take a photo session; the “Pet Customization Workshop”, for personalizing pet clothes; and the “Ka-Soho Beauty Salon”, an aesthetic space with coat services, hairstyles and hair ties, which will have a professional team from the Petz store.
Over the two days, Grupo Estrelas Animais, specialized in pet training, will make presentations of tricks and games. The “Face Painting” activities for children, with the pet theme, also remain; the “Pharmacy”, with the presence of Animal Life professionals to promote awareness about the correct use of medicines; and the “Hospital”, which will have specialists from Hospital Veterinário Santa Inês, giving tips for disease prevention. At Petópolis, visitors can buy accessories, toys and various products.
“Our country has the third largest revenue in the pet market worldwide and the second largest pet population. It was thinking about the representativeness of the sector and how dogs and cats are increasingly part of our daily lives that in 2016 we developed Petópolis, supporting the inclusion of pets in the families' entertainment programs. We believe that, like the first two editions, the event will be a great success ”, says the marketing manager for Shopping Center Norte, Carla Sabato.
Petópolis is not only for visitors who already have dogs or cats, but also for those who want to expand their family. On Saturday (07/04), from 10 am to 6 pm, the Adoption Event will take place in partnership with the Luisa Mell Institute, which works mainly in the rescue of injured or at-risk animals, recovery and adoption. There are 40 dogs and 15 cats ready to win a new family. In the first edition, 25 dogs and 8 cats were adopted, while in the second there were 19 dogs and 10 cats.
Carla points out that Petópolis' solidarity bias goes beyond the adoption of animals. “We strongly believe in the importance of social actions as a means of transformation. For this reason, part of the income collected from the sale of products and services during the event will be donated to the Instituto Centro Norte, which has the mission of contributing to transform the North Zone into an important pole of sustainable development in São Paulo ”, says .
One of the largest and most traditional shopping centers in São Paulo, the Center Norte allows dogs and cats * and dogs to access and circulate, with leashes and guides, in their common areas. In addition, there are restaurants like Andiamo that allow pets to enter the outdoor area. In order to guarantee cleanliness, the Shopping Center offers collection bags at the pedestrian gateways.
* Guard dogs, even with a muzzle, are not allowed inside the Mall and its establishments: Pitbull, Rottweiller, Neapolitan Mastiff, American Stafforshire Terrier and derivative breeds or variations of any of those previously indicated.
